Therapeutic Massage

Customised to your specific needs

Our top priority is your comfort & safety

New clients often wonder how their privacy will be protected during a massage. This is where massage draping comes in, the technique of uncovering only the part of the body that is being worked on. This allows you to remain covered, feel safe, warm and unexposed while still getting the therapy or relaxation you need.

THE REVIVAL

This session is designed to address deep-seated tension and pain. It combines massage with myofascial release and trigger point therapy. Myofascial release focuses on gently stretching and loosening the fascia, the connective tissue surrounding muscles, to improve mobility and release tightness. Trigger point therapy targets specific "knots" or hyper-irritable spots in the muscles. This combination is ideal for those suffering from chronic tension or restricted movement.

What they say-shalahtx-Sharline.png

“I had the 90 minute Revival Massage at Hiatus. Sharline takes so much time to understand your needs and preferences and works with you to get to the spots that feel tight. I felt safe and comfortable and really felt a release in tension in my back after the massage. The whole experience from start to finish was relaxing and such a perfectly warm spoil on a cold winter’s day.”

— Nadine

“I struggled with upper back and neck pain from breastfeeding. After each massage I felt so fantastic and it held up. Such a relief. Appreciated the follow-up home care advice from Sharline immensely.”

— Maria

 FAQs

  • Massage therapy can help you boost your mental health and wellness by reducing stress, anxiety and depression. Therapeutic massage can play an important role in pain management and can help you improve range of motion to improve quality of life and assist in recovery from illness or injury. It can help you improve your physical fitness by reducing muscle tension and thereby help you to improve exercise performance and prevent injuries.

  • Individual preference varies, so for most it depends on your pain, physical needs, emotional needs, and of course, budget. Receiving a massage regularly has the most benefit; this can be as often as weekly or monthly. With our H- circle membership, you can at minimum treat yourself monthly and receive discount perks should you wish to come more regularly.

  • In general, there are a few conditions that would prevent you from getting a massage. Do not schedule an appointment if you are feeling unwell, have a fever, cold, or a skin condition that is contagious. The first trimester of pregnancy is generally considered off-limits for massage, as are active chemotherapy or other intensive medical treatments. If you have a serious medical condition and you are unsure if a massage would be safe for you, we recommend that you speak to your primary care provider to get approval first or contact us to discuss your concerns prior to making an appointment.

  • You will be required to fill out an online health history form prior to your appointment which you will briefly discuss on the day of your visit. Your massage therapist may ask more in-depth questions to establish which areas you would like focused on, or if there are any specific concerns needing to be addressed. It is important to list all health concerns and medication so that your therapist can adapt your session to your specific needs without causing any harm. It is also important to specify any allergies so that your therapist may adjust the oil or cream being used during your visit.

  • You may undress to your level of comfort but it is beneficial to have the full back exposed as well as arms and legs. Many people prefer to keep their underwear on during a massage, while others choose to be nude. Your massage therapist will leave the room so you can undress and lie on the massage table under a top sheet and blanket. Regardless if you choose to maintain some clothing or not, your massage therapist will ensure that you are always covered properly, uncovering only the part of the body that is being worked on.

  • Some people enjoy having a conversation during their massage but keep in mind, the treatment is all about you releasing your tensions and enjoying the experience. Regardless of your choice, be sure to speak up during the massage if there is anything you’d like adjusted (temperature, pressure, music, etc).
